Excellent hotel, but bar needs a lot of work

by elliotz358

Staying here for second time in two years. Great location and desk staff are all friendly and very competent. However, bar is worse then terrible. Sat down there and was completely ignored by two bartenders. With empty bar with only four customers. So we went up to bar and after quite a while finally got attention of a bartender. Tried to place an order and was told they had no wine glasses. No sorry, they seemed happy to get rid of us. We think bar needs a major management overhaul. For an overpriced Courtyard they should not have such a poor bar with such bad service. We will not stay here again.

Turned me off to Marriott

by Tom H

Decided on brief family road trip to Nashville. My daughter has been there before. We had good experiences staying at one property in Provo Utah so decided to consider staying at their facilities when we started doing more domestic travel since retirement. Great location and the positive attributes end there. Outdated facility. Only expensive valet parking. $400 per night. No breakfast. Not even a coffee pot in the lobby since there was a coffee shop attached to the hotel property. Wife had placed earrings next to chair in room and forgot when we checked out. When she called she was told the room had already been cleaned. She implored the front desk to check and the earrings were found on the floor where she left them. Keep in mind this was AFTER the room was cleaned so you can only surmise that it was never cleaned. They promised to send them to her but she had to call 3 times to have this done. Then we had about $20 charged to us for the return. Dropped my Marriott card and will be staying at Best Western or Holliday Inn properties which appear to have customer satisfaction as a priority
