In need of a refresh

by flyingAO

Marathon weekend 2019.
I’m surprised Marriott hasn’t built a nicer hotel here in St George. It is a popular spot and this is their “nicest” brand in town.

We have stayed at this property multiple times over the years. It used to seem modern but after a decade it seems quite dated. The color scheme, finishes, and furnishings in the rooms need a refresh.

We were in a “suite” which consisted of a living room with a sofa sleeper and chairs, and a microwave, fridge, and sink, and then a separate king bedroom (complete with jetted tub next to the bed) and a bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet, and an additional sink in the room. One of the sinks clogged the first time we used it. And upon stepping into the shower we noticed mold in the grout. When we mentioned the problems to the front desk they offered us another non-suite room but we suggested they could just fix the problems which they did while we were gone.

They do offer a free shuttle and breakfast for the runners, which is nice. But no longer have a masseuse there after the race as they did in the past. The hot tub and pool had to suffice.

Close to everything but tucked over on the side of town against a bluff, it is quite and peaceful. Lots of food and shopping options nearby.

I might stay here again or I might see if some of the other Marriotts in town have been more recently updated.

Horrible Management

by benwV7705RF

The management and staff at this hotel is just horrible. They began by giving away a package of mine to someone they shouldn’t have. Then the manager Nicole is so worthless with her level of customer service. She did nothing to help me get it back or pay for getting it back. I’ve never experienced this level of service at a Marriott. She seemed to not even really care. I won’t be staying here or recommending anyone to stay here.
