Good location on bus route. Restaurants in walking distance. Rooms clean and good size. The one thing missing was a fridge. Parking on site. Most staff very helpful and friendly apart from an older man who checked is in who was a bit austire.
A less than warm welcome at the front desk made us feel a little bit uneasy about the place, further exaggerated by confusion about what they were charging on my credit card...long story short - they accidentally took $600 instead of $75 despite my objections. A stressful start to our holiday.
The inn is very old fashioned however the room was super spacious with a king size bed and seating area. We were thankful to have a room at the back rather than on the main street and it was relatively quiet.
Really looking forward to a hot shower after nearly 24 hours awake on the first evening...don’t expect a power shower, don’t expect a proper shower at all really, a dribble from a very low level shower head.
There was a safe and WiFi in the room which we were pleased with, and the free parking was an added bonus, but no fridge or breakfast.
Location was great, plenty of restaurants nearby for the evenings, and we walked to the famous crooked street on Lombard, to pier 33 to collect the ferry to Alcatraz, down to fisherman’s wharf and back to the hotel. Lots of steps, steep ones!
We did enjoy our stay here despite the negative points. We would potentially even return due to the many positives about this place. At £200 a night you expect so much, but this is San Francisco, it’s expensive!
