Excellent staff!

by ashleymF447FH

I booked a room at Delta last minute after having to extend my stay in Richmond due to a family member being admitted at MCV. My previous hotel did not have any availability and I booked Delta due to it's proximity to the hospital.

I am extremely glad that I did! I was exhausted after a day at the hospital, but from the moment I pulled up to the hotel, the staff did everything within their power to make my day better. I first pulled up and asked Tamas (shuttle driver) where I could park. He was extremely friendly and gave perfect directions. Upon entering the lobby, Jeanie (supervisor) and Larry (front desk, excellent beard) were SO welcoming and personable. I was clearly in the worst mood, but that didn't deter them from offering dinner suggestions and even drink vouchers at the bar.

I ended up going to one of their suggestions via the free shuttle service (it'll pick you up and drop you off anywhere within a two-mile radius). They knew their stuff, because that place (Mama Zu's Italian) was FABULOUS. After dinner, I made a quick call and Tamas came back to pick us up and take us back to the hotel.

Despite the circumstances that brought me to the city, I had a great experience at this hotel and with the staff. I have only positive things to say and I truly appreciate their positive attitudes and personalities.

Very pleasant hotel

While not a luxury property, the Delta Hotel is pleasant, the staff is terrific and the rooms are good sized and comfortable, and appear to have been remodeled recently.
Only negative is that the hotel chain no longer provides breakfast as a benefit to Marriott Elite members, which takes away a reward earned from years of loyalty to the Marriott company.
