This is a dated but somewhat updated hotel. Check in went smoothly. It has a round design so that all rooms are close to an elevator. They were noisy, but I did not hear them at night in the bedroom. The new elevator system could be better. The wait times were ridiculous, even when there wasn’t a lot of people around. I have seen this system used elsewhere and much more effectively. Staff was touch and go. Some very nice and efficient, some just showing up for a check. Overall needs a good deep clean, especially inside the elevators. Rooms have all the usual amenities with a fridge, microwave and bar sink set up. Large tv and dining table in the living area. Nice size tv in bedroom. Bathroom had mismatched fixtures with some looking pretty worn out. AC was loud and obnoxious all night. Enough to wake me repeatedly. Fitness center was adequate, but it does not get cleaned on a frequent basis. The only time it was as cleaned while I was there was when I said something to the front desk. Cleaning is not a priority here. Like all Embassy Suites there is a happy hour. Usually here it was always packed and they have limited space. Do not even get me started on the TGIFriday they serve their free breakfast in. It was so filthy I chose to buy my breakfast. I write a separate review for them. Would I stay again? I think there are a lot cleaner options, with all staff being polite at the same price point, in the same area.
The circular shape makes for a stupid layout. Literally every room is right next to an elevator. The elevators make a loud ding ever time they arrive and depart. The way the elevators work is weird and confusing. The air conditioner is loud and works poorly. It woke us up every time it clicked on. The curtains won’t close all the way to block out the light. We slept worse than we ever have at a hotel. The breakfast is at a really dingy TGIFridays. Too small and too gross!
