Needs Hotel Impossible makeover!!

by BettyMiami123

Last minute decision for family weekend stay Cocoa Beach, first location with availability under $120 a night. Found it for $99 online and they did price match. Its biggest positive and draw is its location a 2 minute walk from beach, shops, restaurants and world famous Ron Jon's Surfshop. It is absolutely NO FRILLS motel- with 2 star rating. It is in needed ot Hotel Impossible style makeover! Rooms need to be refreshed, smell dingy until aired out. Balcony did not have separation from next rooms on floor- safety issue, but sliding door had lock and safety pool to lock. There was uncleaned used ashtray in balcony. Lots of little detials that would be simple improvements such as missing light bulbs, not enough outlets for devices, room was cleaned but just on the surface. Housekeeper only had small bucket of cleaning supplies, did not see or hear vacuum being used. Property has great potential due ot location, pool and chicki hut bar that is not open used to store supplies. Did see sign that said if arriving after hours to email for instructions? BUT how many travelers have access to email after hours especially if traveling from other country. Then wait for email response??? Anthony from Hotel Impossible found your next challange that would really turn into amazing beach hotel.!!!

No No No!!!

We arrived to check-in and there wasn’t a car in the parking lot, which should have been a clue right there! As we literally tripped into the office, we noticed the pool was green, scuzzy, and not usable. They claimed it was because “we’ve had a lot of rain” but oddly enough the pools everywhere else were sparkling blue. They said they were going to have a pool company come out and shock it, but it might be a day or two before we could use it, which was no help to us on a 95 degree day. We asked to see a room before we decided on staying there, mostly because we didn’t have a good feeling about the place. The receptionist was hesitant to show us a room, but finally walked us to see one. The room was dark, dinghy, smelled musty, had mold and as we walked in, I noticed the lady stepping on bugs to squash them while she waited by the door. For a $150 per night, we decided that this is not what we signed up for. The photos of the place online looked like a cute kitschy Florida motel but ended up not looking like that in person. So not only did we not have a clean place to sleep, but they CHARGED us for the stay!!! (We ended up disputing the charge with our credit card company and thankfully got our money back!) We ended up staying a 1/2 mile down the road at the La Quinta on the beachfront and it only cost us $50 a night more, but they had a clean pool, accepted our small dog at NO extra charge, served breakfast, had an open tiki bar with amazing drinks next to the pool, a waterfall AND a view of the beach from my patio!!!
Remember kids...you get what you pay for, so dish out a couple bucks more and have a great vacation, NOT at the Fawlty Towers!!!
