Family Gathering at Glacier Lodge

by rdowney

My wife and I took our children and grandchildren to Glacier Lodge last week in the last week of June 2019, We had a large group and rented Alpine Lodge that sleeps 20. My wife and I also rented Driftwood(right on the River) for the 2 of us to have a quiet place we could escape to. Everyone loved it !!! The pool was right behind Alpine Lodge. They have small horses you can rent to walk children around that are too young for regular riding. They have a game area for all ages of children. The free cowboy breakfast on Thursday is always wonderful. This is our 8th time there and always is voted best place to stay for families by our children. All kitchens have everything you need to cook and feed large groups. The Ranglos family and staff are truly the very best people to know.

Kids can't wait to go back!

I stayed at Glacier Lodge for a couple of nights on our way over to Winter Park. All I can say is WOW!! We stayed in the Lazy River cottage and loved it! It is a very large one bedroom cottage with two double beds in a separate bedroom and a queen sofa bed. It has an indoor fireplace, which we utilized as it was very cold one night. The kitchen was fully stocked, although I did not cook much as I was only there a couple of nights. The Glacier Lodge is really spread out, with wide open spaces, play ground, heated pool, and an attached stable. It is about 5 minutes outside of town, so you do not have to drive back through town to get to the RMNP entrance. Also about 5 minutes before you get to the YMCA Estes park. My kids can't wait to go back next year! Highly recommend.
