Great place to stay while visiting Yosemite

by jspanias

My partner and I had a great time staying at the Groveland Hotel. We took a trip to Yosemite and spent the evenings at the hotel after hiking in the park during the day. The rooms were nice and cleanly. The owners brew their own coffee and have a great menu of food for dinner; you can tell they take pride in their food selection and quality. They also have a great selection of craft beers and wine. The hotel is also close to the Iron Door Saloon and the Hotel Charlotte, which are also fun places to eat and drink. Overall, staying here was a phenomenal experience.

Perfect Yosemite base

Groveland is a charming little town and the hotel fits in perfectly. We were made to feel very accommodated when we arrived and told that we would receive guests discount for anything bought in the hotels shop or bar. They do a great selection of wines so that came in useful after a days hike in the park! Free muffins and coffee at breakfast was another nice touch.
The room was very comfortable: a large memory foam bed with large windows and clean bathroom with all the amenities. My only complaint is that the walls are not soundproof and I could hear some snoring from the room next door in the night. However, the hotel does provide ear plugs which were useful.
This was a great little hotel with loads of character. As a Brit, it was a completely new and fun experience. I would stay here again on another trip to Yosemite.
