Overview

This Hampton Inn sits right on the eastern side of Lake Champlain, surrounded by the Adirondack and Green Mountains. This means there are lots of outdoorsy activities for families of all kinds, like biking, hiking or sailing. Other than the beautiful area, the hotel is comfortable and accommodating and its rooms are quaint and inviting. They offer a complimentary breakfast each morning, but if you do not have time, you can pick up an “On the Run” Breakfast Bag as you head out to the lake. The kids will love the complimentary milk and cookies available each evening. T-Bones is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. If you are looking for an interesting tour, take the family to the Ben & Jerry’s Factory. The Hampton Inn also has special offers with this tour, making it irresistible to see how such good ice cream is made.

People AND Dog Friendly

by anonymous5

Our son is a freshman at UVM. This hotel may not be located IN Burlington but it’s a very short drive away (less then 10 minutes). Stayed here for family weekend in October and came back in November for another visit. This is now our “go to” place to stay when we visit and will be for the next 3 years. Why? Affordable rates with AAA card. Dog friendly. Love the high ceilings in the 4th floor rooms. Clean. Housekeeping was SUPER friendly both times. Front desk also very welcoming. Breakfast provided from 7-10am and even had a hot choice (eggs, bacon warm oatmeal, do it yourself waffles). Finally did I mention DOG friendly?!? So refreshing to have a hotel that graciously accepts dogs without hesitation. Well done Hampton Inn Colchester!!!!!

Not what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn

by Trish M

The pictures look great but the housekeeping in the rooms and common areas leaves much to be desired. I asked for the room to be vacuumed and instead they washed the carpet. That would have been nice except no one told me and it was still wet when I returned that night and got a wet sock. I also had the pleasure of packing wet shoes that they had left on the floor.

The breakfast was on the low end of the Hampton offerings. They had the same breakfast items 3 days in a row where usually they rotate the menu and had a very limited bread/pastry section.
