The Hard Rock Hotel in Kuta may sound like a wild party venue but it’s in fact very well suited to families with children. There is a choice of Roxity standard family rooms, luxury family suites and funky loft rooms. The standard rooms come with a master bedroom and a seperate kids room complete with bunk beds and toys. The luxury family suites are much bigger and feature themed kids rooms and the loft rooms have three queen sized beds with a mezzanine loft which would suit families with teenagers. There are also deluxe premium pool access rooms, courtyard rooms and others which can comfortably fit a family in. All rooms have Rock Spa bath products, Bose bluetooth speakers and guitars or turntables provided in the rooms on request.
Roxity Kids Club is a fun daytime activity centre for children aged 4-12 with daily activities. There is also a climbing wall, a kids olympics beach challenge, jewellery making and more. Kids receive a goodie bag and slushie at the kids club. For teenagers there is a unique world class club called Tabu which will give them hours of entertainment. Tabu contains games consoles, a cinema, hang out zones, an alcohol free bar, musical instruments, a pool table and foozball. There are several dining options on site including Jamie’s Italian, the Hard Rock Cafe, pool bars and more. There is also a large pool area, a spa and a Rock Shop at the hotel.

We just spent 5 nights at Hard Rock Kuta. Highly recommended! All aspects were beyond expectations. We traveled as a group of 8 (2 families: 4 kids aged between 4 and 11yrs old).
POOLS: There is one massive one with heaps of sections, including kid water park which was a massive hit, swim up bar and another section with triple slide and double tube slides (one enclosed, one open). There is also another more private pool with exclusive access depending on what room you book. It’s more relaxed and smaller. Temp was cooler in the smaller pool, and just a tad warm in the big one (but you’re in the tropics so I guess the sun heats it - I can’t believe they’d actually heat the pool)
GYM: Newly renovated and well equipped. 4 treadmills, 2 bikes, weights and machinery all adequate. They have water and chilled towels (extremely necessary). Slightly annoyed that the TV screen plays hard rock TV music channel but the music piped though speakers is something else.
SPA: massage was great. Hot stone was nice but speak up if they are too hot, I almost got burnt. They do point this out so don’t be shy.
FOOD: yes, expensive but how else do you think they make money? Breakfast buffet with lots of choices, Asian and western. We also ate some dinners and room service and can’t fault it. Other than price... they had happy hour 2x1 cocktails from 2-6pm which we took great advantage of!
STAFF: super friendly and attentive. Can’t fault them either. From reception, to room service, housekeeping, spa, dining. All bagus (good)!
LOCATION: Great. Right on the beach, we would walk everywhere. You do get harassed walking down the street or beach if you want to get transport, hair braided, massage, manicures, tattoos, surf lessons, cold drinks, sarongs, etc. We felt safe walking as a family and were never approached for anything dubious, although saying that, my husband went out alone one night to the convenience store (4 doors down) and got offered drugs and hookers in the space of 300m!
ROOM: the bed was amazing. Superb mattress. Aircon worked perfectly. Heavy curtains that blocked out light. They also have wall USB charger for device charging. Rooms were always cleaned impeccably. Very happy.
Wonderful place to stay, great for kids. Very entertaining for kids. We stay in the Roxy room family room. Would be the only place we stay now when going to Bali. Place is situated in a good location. Close to beach and shopping.
