Overview

The Heidi Motel is one of the most photographed buildings in Helen because of the charming windmill spinning on top of the motel. The Heidi offers a king room, two queens, a king patio suite (a fireplace, a pullout sofa, and table for four in living room), a queen suite (a fireplace, vaulted ceiling, stained glass window), a king hot tub suite (with 500 square-feet, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows), and a king heart-shaped Jacuzzi suite (500 square-feet, vaulted ceilings, and stained glass windows). Rooms have a flat-screen TV, cable, a mini-fridge, a microwave, Wi-Fi, and a coffee maker.

The property doesn’t have onsite dining, but Betty’s Country Store is across the street.

The Heidi Motel is one-mile to Cool River Tubing, one-mile to Helen Tubing & Helen Water Park, ten-minute walk to Pirates Cove Adventure Golf, four-miles to Chattahoochee Stables, 12.6-miles to Sunburst Stables & Zip lines.

Cute and Conveniently Located

by Tracy D

The hotel itself was adorable. The location was excellent, do be prepared to walk back up the hill to the property though. Because we stayed at the hotel we were also able to see the model train exhibit for free. I would definitely stay again.

Great location

The location is the biggest selling point here. The motel sits on top of a hill, so if you are walking to town, you will be walking up that hill when you get back. The woman at the front desk was very friendly when I checked in. They have an ice machine so you don't have to get ice from the front desk. I was in the King Patio Suite. Does not look like the picture of it. There is one couch, I believe a sofa-bed, in the living area in front of the fireplace. A small coffee table, no end tables. One floor lamp. No bedside tables in the bedroom, though there is room for one on one side. So no place for clock, water, book, eyeglasses next to the bed. No lamps at all, only an overhead. Bathroom was very good in every way. AC was excellent with an AC/heating unit in the living room area and one in the bedroom. Suite was very clean but had the smell of a very old low-end motel that has been smoked in for too many decades, with disinfectant overlaying any remnant smoking smell. I was fine with everything except the odor of the room. And they may not all be like that. And you can't beat this location.
