Most of the 210 guestrooms in this smoke-free hotel include 32-inch flat-panel LCD high-definition TVs with premium cable channels, refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. A handful of larger executive rooms also offer whirlpool tubs, while you can reserve a suite if you still need more room.
The hotel’s Great American Grill restaurant serves a breakfast buffet as well as table service for dinner. You can also grab ready-to-cook meals from the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry convenience store if you want to heat up something quick in your room. Hotel amenities include a heated indoor pool, a fitness center, and a coin-operated laundry room. Parking is free, and the hotel’s complimentary airport shuttle runs day and night.
Located close to the airport but less than a ten-minute drive from downtown, Louisville’s Hilton Garden Inn is very close to Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum, the zoo, and the brand new Bluegrass Boardwalk amusement park (opening in May 2013, where Six Flags used to be).

Stayed 3 nights for the Kentucky Oaks and Derby. The place was packed, but the hotel staff was fantastic. They were prepared with plenty of staff, very nice reception each night (Mint Juleps for all!) and live music and Bloody Mary's on Friday and Sat morning (also live music). I was amazed at how quiet the room was. It was an easy one mile walk to Churchill Downs, but the hotel shuttle also found a way to take you to within a block of the Downs if you wanted. This was the perfect place for us for our Derby Experience. (there is also a great restaurant across the parking lot, big menu and plenty of space so no long waits, so not need to fight the traffic)
We just want to take time and Thank Alica , Dee , Eric, Andrea , Rodrick. William and the cook Tash excellent excellent excellent excellent service we didn’t mind going back to the hotel due to rain because of them. They all worked hard and was dedicated. I started to question if they ever went home because they were there day in and day out. It’s good seeing the same faces and also the new ones too . Poor Eric his helper was a complainer but he was the sweetest guy. Whatever Andrea said to her made her attitude change and she did a complete 360 she was smiling and more attentive. Way to Rock sometimes people need a little pick me up talk . We enjoyed the food fish was a little dry but had a great flavor. The lamb chops my wife had was to die for. I asked for those at breakfast . Everyone I mention to time out of there day and had Conversation with us. They didn’t have to do that . Hospitality is key and they know all about it.
