Situated in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this hotel is next door to the Tanglewood Mall and just two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Mill Mountain Star and Zoo are not far away either. After a day of traveling or checking out the zoo animals, families can enjoy some quality time at the heated outdoor pool. The kids can swim and play while the adults can relax and unwind on the sundeck. Pets are welcome to stay here for a fee so there is no reason to leave any four legged family members at home. The spacious guestrooms and suites feature a mini-fridge, microwave, flat screen television and a coffee maker. Additionally, the suites feature a sleeper sofa. Cribs, rollaway beds and connecting rooms are all available upon request. Free Wi-Fi access is available in the guestrooms. The onsite restaurant, The Elephant Walk Restaurant and Lounge, serves a delicious lunch and dinner. Free shuttle service to and from the airport is available too.

Super hotel and access to different parts of the Roanoke Valley. Staff is helpful for suggestions. Clean room with all the amenities. The food in the restaurant is fairly priced but other option s are nearby.

Fall Leaf Trip

My husband and I drove up from North Carolina and stayed a night at the Holiday Inn Roanoke. I'm glad it was only for a night as I agree with a lot of the other reviews that it's obvious the property needs some work. There are very old carpets in the rooms and hallways, as well as a very noisy air conditioning unit in the room. It was also pricey for a night one stay that was average. There are better, more affordable places to stay in the area.
