Guests at Holiday Inn Washington love the proximity to museums, monuments and the Metro. Very well locared hotel, close to the mall (Smithsonian and National Gallery museums) The hotel is very clean, personnel friendly and restaurants adequate. However, we booked through expedia a tour. The room asigned (725) was very small for a Holiday Inn facility, to the extend that it does not have drawers, so except for hanging clothes,you liveout of the suitcase. Unfortunately the air conditioning of the room was faulty. After 4 attemts to fix it we were moved to room 960. Not really a room, rather a converted storeroom. To get to the bed on the window side the space was less than one foot. In general the room was less than 20 square meters, including bathroom. The distribution was so poor that at least 5 of the few square meters was for the corridor p, as the room was behind an elevator.
Not even the fact that I am a gold member of the Priority club geve me any support (you booked through a third party, I was told).
To be honest, I was given priority club points for the faulty airconditioning. But I could not dream that Holiday Inn had rooms like 960. Ihave been a Priority club (orots predecesor Ambassador Club) member for over 25 years, so I have been guest at manu HI hotels
This was the WORST hotel stay I've had. The shift manager ebony was downright nasty, and there were numerous mistakes made by the hotel. even though some staff were friendly, it doesn't take away from the non standard policies and incompetency I encountered. I ended leaving my high end toothbrush and even after all their mistakes they refused to send it to me without charging me for shipping.
After only one day, the experience of the check in, the room, the rattling AC, the leaky iron, the clogged toilet, the cramped shower, the absolutely nasty manager ebony, the incompetence of double charging me and not fixing it. and the refusal to admit fault and compensate me by sending my items back to me, they've soured me to their hotel and brand!
