Cancelon screwup

by Guide594129

Don't reserve through Cancelon. Somewhere between Cancelon and the hotel, the wrong month was entered and the hotel was 100% booked (as was every other hotel in Washington DC on the 4th of July). Still waiting for my refund which was promised. At this point I doubt I'll ever see that. The hotel was able to put us up for the night in a room that was being renovated with no AC. Better than sleeping on the street!

Great Stay! Fantastic place!!!

Stayed in this hotel late July for 5 nights in a Studio - 2 adults and 2 children under 12. First off - we were welcomed with smiles from everyone when we first walked in. Check-in was a breeze...just a couple of minutes. Our room - SUPER spacey. Since we needed to use the sofa bed for our children, we thought the room would be cramped (there are no photos posted with the sofa bed deployed) but it still had A LOT of space for us not to feel enclosed. The kitchen, although we didn't use it, was fully stocked. Everything you needed in a kitchen was there. The room itself was spotless - even under the couch where the sofa bed goes. The only thing we didn't like (but we found at other Residence Inn's we stayed at that this is just the way they work) is the first time you use the sofa bed, you have to make the bed yourself. After that, housekeeping takes care of making it every day. Breakfast was complete and the staff at breakfast was FANTASTIC. The guy working there even offered to make me biscuits and gravy but he ran out of the fixins to make them with - but no problem - just the though was enough. The ladies are all smiley and the eating area is a good size - we never had problems finding a clean table. One of the ladies even told us not to forget that that night they were going to serve burgers which my kids enjoyed thoroughly! They even offered us a free beer. It was perfect. The location is outstanding. We walked to every museum without needing to use the metro. Just one time we used the DC Circulator which is free. The Metro Station is around the corner and about one big block away. All of the attractions are very close by. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay and I really can't say anything bad about the place! OH! And RICHARD! What a great guy! He sent us to NASA across the street and my kids really enjoyed that visit. Excellent hotel!
