The decision to choose Maldives for our summer vacation was well thought out, we were contemplating destinations like Andman, Phi Phi, Krabi and Bali. Choosing Maldives was tough as we were aware that this was going to be the most expensive of all other destination we were thinking of going.
We chose maldives as we had been to Langkawi before and all other destinations were seemingly similar to Langkawi.
Now when we are back from the island nation we can confidently say that this was an excellent decision.
Maldives was amazing, the colors and views of this real paradise on Earth were unbelievable… you know, how can they be real! Even harder to believe is how the vast majority of our planet’s inhabitants are spending their lives without ever having the opportunity to see all of the absolute beauty of nature that can be discovered in this part of the world.
The islands were virgin not spoiled at all, corals are beautiful and alive, if you can swim or even float in the water the experience of snorkeling is amazing( we snorkled on all six days of our stay, it is advisable to carry the snorkeling kit from India), the staff of the resort( Villa group of Hotels) was super courteous, we stayed at beach villa for 4 nights in Holiday Island and Water Villa of 2 nights in Sun Island.
The ocean in and around the resort is pristine and you would never want to come out of the turquoise water.
The food served in the resort was satisfactory, we were on a all meal plan and the buffet was a mix of oriental and continental cuisine with a splash of some Indian dishes.
p.s. if you a vegetarian/vegan this place can be a challenge!
Also, carrying alcohol into the country is not allowed so don't even try to bring anything in the luggage, it will be confiscated at the immigration check.
All alcoholic drinks need to be purchased at the resort you are staying and obviously it comes at premium cost. e.g. a pint of corona was 8$, can of calsburg was 5$, glass of Mojito was 10$. But thats the price we pay in any upmarket hotel/resort here in India, so better make piece with this and relax.
Nice property for Water villa as I used that one only. Very good sunset and sunrise view, but if you are first timer for snookering than please learn before you go or attend their free course which is only in morning if you are going for one day you will miss this. and without training they will not land you gears for it.
