Overview

For a unique destination within Paris, Les Theatres is a hotel decorated like a theater, where guests are “both performers and audience.” The hotel pays tribute to Jean-Baptise Coquelin (a.k.a. Moliere), Georges Feydeau and Jean Cocteau, three of France’s most esteemed writers. Select the theme of your rooms by writer. Cocteau’s rooms often have terraces and feature colorful decor and lithographs, while Feydeau features a Baroque decor in intimate settings, and Moliere’s rooms are styled with in a burlesque tradition. Rooms only feature a double or twin bed, but this unique 38-room property is best-suited for teens to enjoy. Let them pick their own room! Suites can accommodate an additional bed, for a fee and by request. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Guests are welcome to free buffet breakfast daily, and a Honesty Bar is a self-serve bar to grab drinks after a day’s explorations.

Charming in central location

by Marie-C1225

Our main criteria for Hotel selection was location and Hotel Les Theatres is perfectly located. Right off the metro stop of the 4, 8 and 9 lines, so only a few stops away from Paris’ main sights. On top of that, the Hotel is within a short walking distance from several of the neighbourhoods we wanted to explore: Little Egypt, Le Marais, République, we even discovered great cocktail bars and cafés around Porte St-Denis.

Hotel rating is more 3 stars by North American standards, so manage your expectations and you’ll be fine. Yes, the room is very small, the lift is extremely tiny and there is limited closet space, but this is Paris and you’re not staying at Le Meurice. The room was well maintained and clean and our bed, very comfortable. Only downside is that our shower was flooding, so we needed to use extra towels.

Staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating. We also very much enjoyed the “Theater” theme in the room and common areas. The quirky design resonated positively with us.

Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would definitely return.

Charming little hotel

by Kritmass

We stayed here in April for three nights and it was a perfect rest point for a busy few days walking around Paris.

Good location, most things were within walking distance. The breakfast was fairly limited but still enough choice to appease a hungry belly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We upgraded our room as the first was very small and we were lucky to get another as the hotel was fully booked. Our new room was much bigger but just as charming and quirky as the smaller room.

My only complaint is that the rooms were boiling and at that time of year you didn’t have a cold option on the aircon. It was either have it hot, or don’t have it on. We had to sleep with the window open which was very noisy as you can imagine.

They also gave you a free mobile phone to take and use during your stay. Nice touch, but we didn’t need it as we have our own mobiles.

Not the cheapest hotel either, but generally enjoyed our stay.
