Pros:
The location is on a lovely beach where there is also natural shade. The pool is good and the breakfast is okay as there are about 10 items and two of them change every day. The staff except for one exception, were courteous, pleasant and helpful. The towels for the pools were well organized. There are many restaurants in the area and one can easily walk into Guayabitos or into the neighbouring town.
Cons:
Noise from loud music on the decks , at the pool side even after midnight, and at the
beachside. Smoking on the pool deck which came into our room . Many times we couldn't sit out on our deck and we had to close our deck door. The beachside chairs were full of bird droppings. The bed mattress was old and sloped at the ends with a ridge in the
middle. There were minimal plates, cutlery, etc. We had two old aluminum pots, an old fridge,a t.v. remote that hardly worked, etc. The room needed to be modernized. There was no wifi in our room.

We stayed here this time the beginning of March for 2 weeks.
This was our 5th stay at this Hotel and although it is still very nice, it is showing some wear and tear.
IMHO, its needs some TLC. Before it slips away.
Small things like, more light Bulbs in rooms, Caulking in Bathrooms are mouldy, Sinks are chipped, Shower Taps need to be replaced. Counter Tops are stained and chipped.
Since Management changed over….IMO it has gone down hill a bit.
Without The Lovely Christina, I believe the place would completely fall apart!
She goes above and beyond.
Her young co-worker (the one with the glasses is probably the laziest Front Desk worker I've ever seen. He is on Facebook ALL shift long!
You ask for something from him, you don't get it. You're lucky if he even looks up from his Facebook. But like I say Christina more than makes up for him.
The Free Breakfast was not like it used to be. Let's put it this way….the toast was awesome!
The beach was clean as was the pool. Until the (The Inland Mexican's) started coming for short stays from Ash Wednesday... on. I felt bad for The Hotel workers….They (the Mexican Guests) never picked up their trash, ate food / drank and smoked in the pool. To the point where the hot tub had to be drained and cleaned. I found that to be very disrespectful to The Real Villas and to their own country for that matter. Their littering drove me wild. As a guest I was even picking up after them. I guess The Hotel was put between a rock and a hard place with that. They are paying customers.
Having said all that….I still think it is THE BEST Hotel in Guayabitos and I would go back. I just would not go in March.
