Only Three minor issues...

by DVG59

The whole staff understands their job, they are very polite and friendly, make you feel welcome. Rooms are nicely renovated, and a ceiling fan adequately cools you while sleeping so you do not need to turn on the airconditioning.
Taken into account that this is a large hotel, the food is of very high quality and quantity. Plenty of choice and properly prepared. Although I am not what filets of pangasius is doing on an island in the Atlantic ocean... but OK, there was plenty of other choices of fish available.
Two points that really need improvement in our opinion:
-The coffee is bad. Army coffee, sitting in large thermos cans, only good for providing cafeine... Espresso or cappuccino is available, but at an extra charge (at breakfast? in a 5*?) and the quality was certainly not good enough to justify any additional cost.
- The hotel claims it has a towel policy. It doesn't. At all. Consequently lounge chairs are being reserved whole day by the more selfish customers, whilst staying unused for most of the day. I understand it is a hot topic for hotels to controle this, hard to solve, but we found it irritating.
- Breakfast or dining outside is very nice, with a nice view. But space is limited. Again some larger groups were occupying a large number of tables with only a few people sitting there...

Just booked again

by BarnsleySalmon

We initally came for a week in October 2016. We had seen it from the outside a year earlier and it looked very impressive, so we booked. The inside is just as good.We have just got back, Nov 2019 and have now been 3 years running and have just booked again for 2020.
Food is fantastic, rooms are great, staff are brilliant, not many kids and its just relaxing and peaceful. In my opinion a place for couples , who just want to chill.
The only negative, but it doesnt put me off is that the evening entertainment is not great.
I would highly recommend.
