Within the valleys of the Swiss Alps, the Hotel Staubbach provides a tranquil and homey setting. The small, Bernese Oberland village of Lauterbrunnen is located in the Jungfrau Region and provides easy access to Trummelback Waterfalls, Schlithorn, and Jungfraujoch. The Staubbach Falls, for which the hotel is named, is just outside the village and drops nearly 1,000 feet. Owned by a family from Switzerland and California, the innkeepers know a thing or two about pleasing American travelers. Rooms, however, are still European in size and style and most can only accommodate two people in two singles or two singles pushed together to create a double. Extra beds may be added to some rooms for kids at a small fee. Connecting rooms are available, as well as a triple with three single beds and a four-bedded room with two singles and twin bunk beds. There are no TVs in any rooms; a TV is located on the ground floor in a common room that also features toys and games for kids. Parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary to guests. Breakfast is included with your stay, but the hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner. Six restaurants are within a 10-minute walk from the hotel, offering Swiss, Italian and Chinese options.
