Overview

For a comfortable stay in a quiet neighborhood of Salzburg, the Hotel & Villa Auersperg is an ideal stay for families. It’s also a short walk to Mirabell Gardens and the Salzach River, which crosses to the historic portion of the city.

The family-owned and operated property is housed in two different buildings, built in 1900, and because it is operated by a family with young children, the owners understand the trials of traveling throughout Europe with kids. The hotel provides free amenities to fit your needs, such as cribs, highchairs and strollers; toys; night lights and safety equipment; and just an email to the hotel explaining how many you are traveling with will ensure you have what you need when you arrive. Both the main house and the neighboring villa still feel like a large home, and families will fill right at home at Auersperg, returning from a day of sightseeing to take in the private garden before retiring in a room that can actually sleep four — a rarity in European city hotels!

Reviews

Very elegant hotel

by wordsncolors

The hotel has a huge parking space, which was very convenient. The location is very central, and they have maps which are easy to follow. The restaurant info booklet was very helpful in sorting out dinner plans for each night. The room was spacious, elegantly appointed, and came with a nice bathroom. Loved the music system and assortment of CDs and books in the room - a very nice touch!

Nice Boutique Hotel in Salzburg!

by tiffx1

We enjoyed a one night stay at the Hotel & Villa Auersperg. The staff were friendly and accommodating and we really enjoyed the breakfast they served the following morning. The hotel is close to the central part of town and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. Also, it's an easy walk from the train station even with luggage in tow. I would highly recommend staying here while in Salzburg.

Family Activities

Gardens
A hidden garden is available to relax in while small kids safely play. A rooftop spa has a sauna and a steam room that are turned on daily at 5 p.m. with a solarium available for quiet relaxation.

Bike Rentals
Bicycles are available for guests to enjoy, and with the proximity of the river biking trails and natural parks, there are plenty of places to enjoy a bike ride. Kids' bikes can be arranged, if you give advance notice. Bike lanes are plentiful in Salzburg.

Family Dining

A*Bar provides onsite and all-day light bites in a café-style environment. Breakfast is a traditional and delicious European spread with cheeses, pastries, and a la carte items. Toasted sandwiches, antipasti and organic, homemade dishes are available from 7 a.m. through midnight.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Babysitting
The hotel can help book a reliable and trustworthy babysitter.

The Art of Smart Timing
Salzburg is most often visited by families in the summer months, between July and August. Rates and occupancy are at peaks during these months and families will find better summer deals in early June and September, if looking to enjoy warmer temperatures in the city.

Getting There
The hotel is located in the center of the city, a few blocks from Mirabell Gardens. From Salzburg Airport, it will be about 20 minutes via taxi.

Getting Around
The hotel's central location makes it easy to walk around Salzburg to enjoy the sights. While it will take a few blocks to reach Old Town, the hotel is in a quiet location but near restaurants families can enjoy. Bicycles are available at the hotel to reach attractions a little further afield.

For Mom and Dad
Enjoy the rooftop solarium spa, with its sauna and lounge chairs beneath the floor-to-ceiling windows and enjoy the views of the city and the sunshine, even on a cold day.
