Overview

The full-service resort with authentic New Hampshire feel provides everything families could desire-and some things they wouldn’t expect. In the former category are a convenient highway location that backs up on a quiet lake, with an indoor/outdoor heated pool open year-round, as well as hot tubs and a game room. In the latter, is a 100-foot high observation tower from which you can view all the splendor of the surrounding White Mountains, including the namesake rock formation.

The resort is more than 100 years old, and frankly showing its wear in places; furniture is pretty basic and outdated in some cases, and beds are average. The newer cottages and bungalows, while still rustic, are a step up from the rooms in the hotel. Other features of the resort include a restaurant with meal plan, huge TVs in the guestrooms, and paddleboats on the lake. All in all, it provides a fun and convenient home base for exploring the New Hampshire mountains.

We were with a senior group. We were supposed to have Lakeview rooms. Ended up across the street looking I think at an old tennace court had to replace keys 3 times before they worked, it is a senior group why would they book us in 2nd floor without elevator. The reservation said sit down dinner not smorgasbord everything was in sauce nothing that I liked. Did not get to use pool and hot tub I expected to be in the same building. I am so glad they offered a shuttle bus my knee's are killing me from getting on and off. Nothing good about this place STAY AWAY

Held together by duct tape and glue.

I have been coming to Indian Head Resort for the last 6 years for the New Hampshire Highland Games. Each year I have stayed here I have noticed a steady decline in the overall service. This year was the last straw. For the three days we stayed at the resort the bathroom in our room was not cleaned and the beds looked like they were made up by a 6 year old. The place looks like it is being held together by duct tape and glue and the almost double price (for their normal priced rooms) during the Highland Games doesn't make it favorable either. Yes, it is convenient because the bus to the Highland Games stops right out in front but there are other choices in the area and next year we will be trying one of them. By, by Indian Head Resort you have lost this repeat customer.
