Located in a convenient spot in Huaraz, La Casa de Zarela offers cozy accommodations with easy access to the city and nature. Triple Rooms are well suited for family groups comprised of three people. The hotel features two onsite restaurants. One restaurant boasts a menu full of Tex-Mex, Thai, Local and Asian dishes, while the other restaurant has an a la carte menu.

Good value for the money/location

We stayed here upon our return from seven days in the mountains and found the Casa de Zarela to be a good choice. The pluses were quiet location, nice open air patios, warm duvet blankets on nice mattresses.

The breakfast is nice but note that only the coffee/tea, bread, and juice are free. Ordering omelets, eggs, fruit bowl costs a small amount, but a good quality meal if you want it. (We did not sample the Thai food).

Like any hotels of this type we found the WiFi to be weak (very difficult to get a stable connection to change airline reservations). The towels were threadbare as well.

In general this is a recommended hotel for the dollar value and charm in a quiet part of town.

Food is amazing!

Didn’t stay at the hotel but had dinner one night in the restaurant. The Thai food here is amazing!! Zarela makes everything fresh, if you’re missing a good pad thai or curry this is the place to go. The passionfruit cocktail was also incredible, and the decoration was really cute and cosy!
