This is by far our absolute close to home vacation place to go. The staff is extremely nice and when I say staff I mean every single one of them. They always make us feel welcome and taken care of. Place has a private beach with free kayaks and paddle boards. Hotel is clean and the rooms are huge plus they are dog friendly. I celebrated my birthday here and they made it extra special. I would give it 6 stars but I do not have the option. We LOVE la siesta. Keep up the good work.
We went to Islamorada for a fishing trip with our adult-age daughters and some friends. The resort desk staff was pleasant and efficient, and we were given bottles of water. The rooms were large and clean, and there was plenty of room to spread out. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was small, but updated.
The first problem was water had blown in under our door from a storm and we had to have maintenance mop things up, which was done promptly. We also needed more towels and they accommodated that also. The main issue, however, was the shower was horribly clogged. It was late so we took showers standing in soapy, dirty water. I reported it that night and asked for it to be taken care of in the morning.
Unfortunately, weather caused our fishing trip to be cancelled, so we spent the next day at the resort. The beach is nice, with games outside like Cornhole, Janga and Connect Four under a pavilion with picnic tables. The pool is large and has a lot of seating, with a "beach" entry. There are also paddle boards and kayaks to check out, however, the guy who was in charge of it showed up very late, so we never got to use these items. Most disappointing was that the drain never got unclogged that entire day, and we all had to take showers standing in soapy, dirty water again.
All in all, the rooms we were given were average with no view. I might stay there again if I could be guaranteed to have an ocean-facing room. The pictures all made it seem like that was the case.
