NOTE: Lake Placid Lodge will be closed from March 24 to May 7, 2014 for spring cleaning, but the resort will continue taking reservations for the rest of 2014.

Nestled in the Adirondacks, Lake Placid Lodge is the only hotel on Lake Placid. Children over the age of twelve are welcome, and all ages can stay during Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Weekend, President’s Week, during the month of March and when the Lodge is reserved in its entirety by one party.

Lake Placid Lodge houses thirty guestrooms, each unique in design and decor. Rooms are spacious and luxurious with stone fireplaces, hand-built beds and extraordinary views of the wilderness. Guests stay in the Main Lodge, cabins, Lakeside Building (suites) or cottages that overlook the lake.

Families enjoy an abundance of activities throughout the year, including whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. They also like the hotel’s Teaching Kitchen, where they can discover professional cooking techniques with Executive Chef Nathan Rich and Executive Sous Chef Sarah Steffan. In-room spa services are available.

We had dinner at Maggie’s pub and the food was overpriced, and nothing spectacular. Service was horrible and unprofessional. I personally think the rooms are overpriced and nothing spectacular. The views are really nice and the lodge itself is beautiful but with bad service and overrated food it changes the overall experience.

one for the books

My dear friends rented out the entire lodge for their wedding weekend and the memories we created here will last for a lifetime. All the amenities that typically come with modern luxury accommodations in a camplike cabin atmosphere. The food & staff are impeccably amazing. We went zip lining, waterskiing, and hiking. So many out door activities to keep you busy during the day and you retreat back to your cozy cabin with the most amazing bed sheets. They sell them because they are that noticeably good!! We bought some, Ofcourse. We will absolutely be back!!!
