Nestled in the Adirondacks, Lake Placid Lodge is the only hotel on Lake Placid. Children over the age of twelve are welcome, and all ages can stay during Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Weekend, President’s Week, during the month of March and when the Lodge is reserved in its entirety by one party.

Lake Placid Lodge houses thirty guestrooms, each unique in design and decor. Rooms are spacious and luxurious with stone fireplaces, hand-built beds and extraordinary views of the wilderness. Guests stay in the Main Lodge, cabins, Lakeside Building (suites) or cottages that overlook the lake.

Families enjoy an abundance of activities throughout the year, including whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. They also like the hotel’s Teaching Kitchen, where they can discover professional cooking techniques with Executive Chef Nathan Rich and Executive Sous Chef Sarah Steffan. Cozy Wood-Fire Blanket Perfection

by ericab4

This place deserves every one of its five stars, ten times over. This resort won me in the details and we will surely be back.

We stayed two nights in the Saddleback, a one bedroom lake side cabin. We arrived early and were greeted with a glass of champagne and were able to get into our cabin immediately. There was wine waiting for us on the table, the best testing brownie crackle (no other way to describe this heaven-sent snack) and a view second to none- we left the drapes opens every minute to enjoy the view. The robes were lush, the bath water always hot, and a bed worthy of a post unto itself- very cozy, very warm, and positioned perfectly to see the sunrise each morning.

The service was also impeccable- a wood burning fire placed roared the whole visit, the resort pub and restaurant never disappointed and the front desk fulfilled every request immediately.

We will never experience Lake Placid any other way, we will surely be back!
