NOTE: Lake Placid Lodge will be closed from March 24 to May 7, 2014 for spring cleaning, but the resort will continue taking reservations for the rest of 2014.
Nestled in the Adirondacks, Lake Placid Lodge is the only hotel on Lake Placid. Children over the age of twelve are welcome, and all ages can stay during Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Weekend, President’s Week, during the month of March and when the Lodge is reserved in its entirety by one party.
Lake Placid Lodge houses thirty guestrooms, each unique in design and decor. Rooms are spacious and luxurious with stone fireplaces, hand-built beds and extraordinary views of the wilderness. Guests stay in the Main Lodge, cabins, Lakeside Building (suites) or cottages that overlook the lake.
Families enjoy an abundance of activities throughout the year, including whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. They also like the hotel’s Teaching Kitchen, where they can discover professional cooking techniques with Executive Chef Nathan Rich and Executive Sous Chef Sarah Steffan. In-room spa services are available.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. Everything was wonderful. We stayed in the Owls Nest cabin which is furthest from the main lodge and sits directly on the water. It is absolutely gorgeous as the pictures reflect. Very romantic and very tranquil. The staff was welcoming and immediately acknowledged that we were repeat customers. We dined at Maggie’s Pub and also at the fine dining restaurant Artisan. The food was good to very good and the service was exceptional and truly accommodating. The car service to downtown was convenient and well managed. High marks all around. We remarked on the fact that there were no negatives to our stay. Special mention of our bartender Consuela, our server, Jen and Paul and Devin from grounds who went above and beyond to make our stay special. We will return again.
The facility was gorgeous and beautifully maintained. Every staff member we encountered was professional without being stuffy or scripted. Then there was the housekeeping staff we never met but they kept our room immaculate. The three nights stay was perfect in every way. We’ll be back this summer with our kids!
