Overview

It’s the little things that really make a stay comfortable-an attentive staff who doesn’t forget to dust in the corners, fresh-brewed gourmet coffee with a complimentary breakfast, and friendly innkeepers who are quick to recommend area restaurants and attractions. While the Lamplighter is an older motel-and definitely showing its age-this Lake Sunapee area motor lodge punches above its weight with a pleasing attention to detail.

The motel contains 14 single and double rooms, which are large by motel standards (though bathrooms are small). Four of them have kitchenettes. It is a 10-minute drive from Lake Sunapee and just down the street from the New London Barn & Playhouse, which shows summer stock theater, including family-friendly musicals and a special children’s theater program.

Reviews

Great family owned motel

by Stefan6913

Have stayed here numerous times but most recently about a year ago. The owners are friendly and welcoming and the rooms, though a bit dated, are clean and comfortable and HUGE!!! Rates are reasonable and unless Colby-Sawyer College has a reunion, its available with plenty of rooms. I will be back up at the college for a reunion in the fall and can't wait to visit the Lamplighter. Highly recommend a visit if you are going to be up in the New London area.

Spacious and very clean inside, Beautiful Gardens outside

by Smith B

The guys who run Lamplighter are very casual, welcoming and helpful. They invite you back to the office in the morning for pastries and coffee. They have places to sit outside near the gardens to soak up the sun while reading your morning paper!
