Reviews

Decent budget hotel but not hip or interesting

by ryedreyer

We booked here because of the great reviews and the write-up (hip hotel with great views).
In reality it is not really a hotel (no bar, no lobby to wait in, no restaurant, no service) - just a room accessed via an elevator.
The "double beds" are tiny, queen size at most.
To be fair, the hotel is not bad - the shower works, there are black-out blinds, the towels are nice, and the room not tiny. Good location if you like Chinatown, but a long walk to the subway.
The saving grace is the view over the bridge from the window.

Good Value For The Money

I would call this a budget hotel. It is clean, comfortable and near a lot of the attractions in lower Manhatten. You can walk to Battery Park for the Statue of Liberty/Ellis island and the World Trade Center 9/11 Museum. This is a no frills hotel, no restaurant and few amenities. But it is clean, the bathroom is great but bring your own shampoo, etc. There are good views of the Manhatten Bridge and the Freedom Tower from our room.
