The Lions Dive and Beach Resort Curacao offers families 132 guestrooms and suites, with king and queen beds, kitchenettes, mini-fridges, Internet access (for a fee) and ocean views. Resort activities include the beach, water sports, a swimming pool and instructional dives. Known for their scuba excursions, families should get certified before their visit to the resort and take part in a dive into the clear blue Caribbean water. Another great experience for families is the dolphin encounter, which can be set up right at the resort. After working up an appetite, families can dine at one of the four restaurants, Hemingway, Chill, Piazza and Nemo. Live entertainment is often scheduled in the evenings at Hemingway.

We had a party of 10, almost all grandkids. We had 7 divers and 3 non divers. The resort had 2 bedroom apartments with kitchen. Our apartment overlooked the ocean and a reflection pool and two restaurants. Very close to the beach and dive center. There was a wrap around porch with a dining room type table and chairs.
The dive center was excellent and very helpful. The divemasters were very professional. (Safety first then diving) We had two people certified. (Daughter and grandson) Their boats were very clean and modern. Most of the boats i saw were over 40 feet.
The resort has four restaurants and we visited them all. Each restaurant was different in that one was a mexican, italian, american and european. By using a combination of the kitchen in the apartment and going to the restaurants we kept cost under control. The food overall was very good and service was great.
The grounds of the resort were beautiful. Alot of flowers blooming and an old mango tree etc. But beautiful grounds.
I thought everyone was very nice and service oriented.
The biggest thing about this resort is that it is family friendly. Kids really are welcome.
I’ve been to this hotel twice, once in 2012 and this year. The hotel itself is situated in one of the best places of the island. The staff is quite friendly for it being the Caribbean. The cleaning service for the apartments is okay, not great but not bad. The food is very good, it’s just a shame that out of the 4 restaurants/bars they have that 3 of them have half of the menu the same.
Overall it was a good but they use plastic everywhere. Plastic cups, plastic straws everywhere. I hope they change it soon and innovate a bit since the hotel is nearly the same as it was9 years ago.
