We were disappointed for a few reasons. Teen soccer team happen to be staying so hallways were noisy all afternoon into the night. Fire alarm was activated around 5p waking us from a nap. Being from East coast, we were exhausted. Shower was only warm at best until the last 30 seconds of an 8 - 10 min shower. Finally upon final rinse did hot water and pressure appear but 9 min too late! Pool was not clean and very cold. View from our room was nice. Not much to do in the area if you have no car.

So very impressed with the entire event. Marlene Robbins and the Long Beach Marriott staff were excellent. The food, drinks, service all around certainly stands out as exceptional "Marriott Way" service and attention to detail. The food was so scrumptious with a special shout out to warm spinach dip in the crispy baguette and the chicken pot pie. Those were by far my favorites, but everything else was great, too. From fresh ice cream, full on candy bar including pop rocks, sour patch kids, nerds, Hawaiian punch in the Hawaiian Punch glass pitcher. I can't believe I ate reeses pieces and flashed to E.T. Phone home. They had an open bar with great wait staff as well as those keeping food stations full. Live band was Top Gun and they did 3 sets of nicely mixed 80's music from hair bands to new wave classics. Nice salute to Cars and Eddie Money, too. The whole time two walls were blasting MTV videos. I actually was listening to band sing 99 luft balloons and watching a silent Beastie Boy video for "Brass Monkey". I really felt like I slipped into a time warp.
