Reviews

Airstream... poor condition

by enniferj

To be clear, after our very disappointing stay the management refunded half of my accommodation fee. They also did offer to move me but I was too unwell. That's on me. Interestingly I left a review on booking.com and it was removed even though I thought I was fair. I left a list of the problem I had staying in the Airstream. Management themselves said that only recently got them and they were aware of the problems.
I really feel they shouldn't let them out again until they fix the problem.
Here is a list of all the issues that we had:
Propain heater had strong gas smell.
No instructions to use heater.. I knew but others mighten.
Staff did not attend when I asked for a spare heater and to discuss the strong smell. I had to ask the restaurant next door if they knew how to contact the after hrs number.
No spare heater
No spare blankets
Shower runs hot and cold. I was left with cold water only while my hair was full of shampoo.
Roof leaked over bed
Friends airestream next door leaked more
Bathroom door wouldn't close - clearly hasn't been attended to... timber gauge out
Can't close x1 window.
Others are hard to move
x2 blinds were broken. Fell off.
Blinds are not block out and do not close flush around the curved wall... 6 inch gap so it's like your in a tent.. when the sun cones up. Also not fully private I could see into my friends one.
Back stove burner doesn't work
No hairdryer.
No instructions to use fan in bathroom.
Huge pot holes everywhere. They tried to explain that it because it rained a lot. I grew up in a rainy area, on a gravel road. It's because they don't grade the road often enough.
As an aside I was sick as and reception did not have a doctor to recommend nor did they try to find someone for me.
Poor for $300 per night.
There's no luxury where we stayed.
Upside: close to a beautiful beach, sunken lounge near reception is nice. Bar next door is nice.

Not a resort - much better places in Tofino area to stay

Arriving by car 1/2 mile on a road that is full of pot-holes and really not safe for travel. Arrival to a run-down area; guest services who really didn't wish to be there (and I think they were the owners). We stay in one-bedroom cabin for 3 guest; the "bed" in the living room is a davenport (however, was surprising comfortable). The beach was easily accesible and could hear the ocean all night. Fireplace didn't work; and when it did, there was alarms being set off all night (was scared of carbon dioxide poisoning). There is definately way better places to stay for the very high price we paid (Approx $400 for a one bedroom cabin). The only saving grace of getting rated Poor over Terrible is that the Little Ronnie's BBQ hut is amazing with awesome food and staff. Further, the beach itself is wonderful with lots of space and is super clean - and totally dog friendly! Visit the beach; but stay someone else for a more comfort and better on pocket book!
