We had a wonderful 5 day stay just to get out of the winter weather for a bit. This is not the place for nightlife or shopping or a generic chain hotel experience. We stayed in one of 12 private bungalows with thatched roof, stone bathroom, Huge porch with rockers and hammock , king bed with lovely linens and mosquito net (for atmosphere - the slatted doors and windows do have screens) and mix of antique and carved wood furniture. A very jungly vibe! 2 onsite restaurants were very good but we also took a cab into Cabarete for some great seafood meals as well. And the walking distance pizza restaurant was delicious. Can walk the beach very far in either direction - move up to the adjacent wooded path occasionally. Sand was very clean on the beach. Quite wavy but fun to swim in. Probably not quite as warm as the Punta Cana water but certainly lovely and the rocky cliffs were beautiful. Small pool very pretty. The grounds are beautifully tended by a diligent staff starting quietly in early morning. ALL staff was extremely friendly and helpful - special shout outs to Chantal, who can arrange any sort of tour or dinner, Sacorro (sp.) also a concierge, the 2 lovely young women serving breakfast each morning and the tall young man serving dinner (jason??) The hotel mgr., Enrique, is very present, greeting guests and checking on things discreetly. I really can't think of anything negative at all. It was a perfect simple getaway where we could recharge. We hope to return!
Natura Cabana was an oasis- quiet, beautiful grounds and steps from the ocean. The staff was excellent- very friendly, willing to help and always present at the desk. The cabana's themselves are full of character and very comfortable. The restaurant serves delicious and fresh food- often with ingredients from their garden.
