New ownership

by GailnMike

We’ve been coming to Mazatlán for 12 years and always stayed here. We found out that there were new owners and decided to book this year here as well. They did some maintenance improvements, but apparently they let some of their best staff go. Happy hour stopped a year or so ago. The place is still dated, but it’s clean and comfortable. You get what you pay for. Don’t expect any extras here.

Top rated resort in Mazatlán??

by wjjct

It was tough trying to find any options for a 4-5 star resort to spend the day at. Bring from Canada, I was a bit weary of the Ramada and Holiday Inn properties that were listed as being 4-5 star so I went this this “local” one.

At the end of the day, I can’t say that the Palms is a 5-star. At most, it was a 3-star. Although the location was good-right on the beach-the hotel itself was tired and old. There was no hot tub and we were informed that their one volleyball went missing and hadn’t been replaced so we couldn’t play any beach volleyball ?! Similarly, their shuffle board and tennis equipment was lacking. We had purchased their day pass for 360 mxn of which included a 200 mxn food credit, so the price wasn’t outrageous.
On the bright spot, my family said that the food onsite was excellent-the prices were reasonable at least.
