We drove from Providence to Acadia in June 2019 and needed a comfortable break in between. I am a Marriott member but Residence Inn can be a hit or a miss. I booked this one expecting a clean room, which is in line with most Residence Inns. Surprisingly, the hotel offered more than a clean room.
A cheerful young lady welcomed us at the front desk, she checked us in and gave us change for the laundry. The pool area, guest laundry, dining area, and our room were all impeccably clean. Later that evening, we saw the same lady (the front desk manager) cleaning the front lobby all by herself with a mop. Next day morning, housekeeping was doing the same-- if every employee is conscious about the aesthetics of the common areas, hotels can look clean and inviting. This Residence Inn is a gem in Bath/Brunswick area.
The room itself was well laid out, the bathroom was a bit cramped but the shower was large. The bed in one bedroom was extremely comfortable. There was no dust in the room. All the sheets were freshly laundered. The kitchen was well maintained with clean dishes, glasses and clean pots and pans.
We felt guilty that we had to leave early the next morning.
The only issue we faced was we generally ask for a quiet room and our room was on the first floor right off of Highway 1. We could hear early am traffic pretty loud and clear. It did not bother us much because we had to leave early too but could have become a challenge had was stayed another night.
Go for it! Stay here if you can. This place is fantastic. You can trust that your stay will be PERFECT. If every roadside hotel in America was as fresh, clean and comfortable as this one, we would travel a heck of a lot more.
