Decent choice in Eugene

by SeeTheW0rld62

This was our second stay at the Residence Inn in Eugene. This time we were in a room at the back of the property. The room was large with 2 bedrooms and a living area. This time the the train woke me up with horns at 4:30 am. The first time we stayed here I didn't hear the train late at night or early in the morning but we were in another part of the hotel. There might not be any part of Eugene where you can't hear the train in the middle of the night. The hotel's walls are thin. I sometimes heard voices in other rooms and it sounded like a waterfall when the room above us flushed the toilet or was in the shower.

The A/C was louder than a jet engine

The good:
Hotel is in a great location. There is a paved trail that runs along the Willamette River just across the street from the hotel.
The staff is super friendly, professional and helptul
The property is well maintained and clean
Parking is plentiful

The bad:
The air conditioner in the room was louder than a jet engine. Out of hundreds of stays, this was by far the loudest air conditioner unit. Our solution was to keep the A/C off when we went to sleep, and thankfully it was a cooler night, but the room still got a bit warm.

Breakfast was standard Residence Inn fare, and the staff were attentive and kept the items stocked.

Pet fee of $75 is a bit steep if you are staying 1 night, but is not even close to the worst we have encountered.
