The King Street Blues is a vibrant restaurant — check out the enormous and colorful paper-mache sculptures on all three floors — brimming with equally wonderful homemade meals. And I’m not kidding. The menu is loaded with stacked burgers like layers of bacon, smoked Gouda and avocado or blue cheese, bacon, tomato and lettuce, all leaning alongside a mound of hand-cut fries. Chili, cornbread and finish-every-bite salads are on the menu too. The kids’ menu includes homemade macaroni and cheese (seriously delicious; who in their right mind would waste this on kids?), grilled cheese, hot dog, fries and more. The four of us fought over a slice of key lime pie made from scratch for dessert. The blues play in the background with a live blues band on Friday nights. The King Street Blues is a can’t-go-wrong choice.
