If you want to truly pamper your little angels, the Ritz-Carlton is arguably the best Beantown has to offer. Besides babysitting services, strollers and cribs on request, the hotel houses a children’s suite featuring a children’s bedroom/playroom complete with tot-sized furniture, an entertainment center with television, VCR and stereo, a “Trumpet of the Swan” video and book, arts and crafts center, toys, games, and a mini-refrigerator filled with healthy snacks and beverages. Another bonus: You can enroll your kids in the Ritz’s “A Day of Social Savvy” program where they’ll learn ballroom dancing, table manners, social correspondence and telephone etiquette. The hotel completed an $11 million renovation in 2008 of all guests rooms and suites.

As someone who travels 200+ nights a year, I’ve become a self proclaimed “hotel snob.” I’ve had the pleasure of staying at several Ritz properties as well as JW, St. Regis, and Four Seasons. I’ve lost my love affair with Ritz over the past several years as the brand in my opinion has gone downhill. My company is based out of Boston so I am here frequently and normally stay at The Liberty.
We came to Boston to see Billy Joel at Fenway. I was slightly skeptical due to few negative reviews on TA, but booked regardless. I didn’t know what a treat we would be in for. **disclosure: I do have Titanium status**
Upon check-in we were told that our room wasn’t ready, and wouldn’t be for a few hours. Not the best start. As my other half was getting ready in the restroom, they did some magic and had a room for us. The hotel was 100% booked so there were no upgrades available. Fine by me, as I never count on them. If I want a better room, I can always book it. We were pleasantly surprised to have a top floor room overlooking the garden.
The house car was always available to take us to our destination, and the drivers provided the right amount of city education while not over-talking.
Concierge was fantastic, booking us a last minute massage next door at Equinox. While a separate review, one of the best either of us has had.
The highlight is here... checking in we discussed what we were in town for. We came back from the concert Saturday night to find a handwritten card, picture of Billy Joel, and a treat from someone very thoughtful at the front desk. These are the “little things” they differentiate a brand and a property from the rest.
What an amazing experience. I’ve found my new go-to Boston hotel.
The staff went beyond expectations and ensure we had everything we needed. They were very curteous & professional. Shout out to Dorian at the Club Dinning room and Meghan at the front desk. They treated us like VIPs. Always treated us with a smile and accomodated us with all our requests. The club bedroom was clean and comfortable. We recommend this hotel and will definitely come back very soon.
