October Late Break

by ddz6006

We approached the reception desk and were greeted by the helpful receptionist. We handed over our passports and were taken on a short walk to room 534 by the bell ???? boy and he took our bags up the stairs and placed them in the room.
The room had a sea view which we paid extra for, although it didn’t look ???? directly onto the sea as it was partially blocked by foliage.
The meals were all served in the main hotel, the restaurant was a bit Fawlty Towers;
1. Queue from the bottom of the stairs
2. Get seated by the restaurant staff
3. Sit until someone changes the table cloth
4. Wait on drinks order being taken
5. Proceed to collect a plate and browse the food offering (All inclusive) banquet style.
The food offering are the standard all inclusive fare and adequate in both variety, quality and quantity. No complaints!
The complex is well laid out and with at least 5 pools, a pool bar at the main pool. There is also a kiosk serving cakes ????, ice cream ????, crepes.
We sometimes sat at the bar and had some good fun with the bar staff.
There were lots of sun loungers when we stayed, but unsure how this would be when the hotel ???? was full with 1200 or 1300 guests.
There is a range of water sports equipment but we never tried it.
The beach is shallow quite a way out into the water.
I would stay here again!

A family holiday in the sun

We got to Roda beach on 12th Oct and the weather was fab all week! The complex is large and clean with various pools of differing sizes although we usually used the large one plus the lovely little beach. The room was adequate-a parturition between the 2 sleeping areas. Decent bathroom, no view but I didn't pay for one. Couldn't work out when the fridge was supposed to be replenished-this seemed to be as and when they wanted! Only water too which was unusual for an AI place. Food hall-busy but moving, food quality was adequate but we don't go away for the food,only a bit of sun and fun! 3 out of 4 of us had tummy upsets for 24 hrs, as it seems did most of the guests. Who knows what that was. Entertainment team were trying! Evening entertainment was poor to be honest but they had a few laughs and did try! Day time was better; archery, pool games and football etc. Salt water pool was lovely-no complaints there. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the slide, free canoes, paddle boards, pedalos and meeting lots of new friends. To sum it up...if you want lovely weather and aren't fussed about about having gourmet food, then Roda is fine. It was pricey for what it was and the tummy bug took the edge of for us but the weather was great and the place was clean.
