Overview

The Sunset Beach Hotel offers intimate accommodations along the Shelter Island Sound that echo the beach experience of yesteryear. All guest receives complimentary use of beach chairs, paddleboards, and bicycles to enjoy the natural surroundings. The hotel has an onsite restaurant that offers lunch and dinner menus with flavors influenced by coastal Italy and the French Riviera. All dishes are seasonal and locally sourced from the freshest food possible. All of the 20 guestrooms have a sundeck with water views, a tub/shower combination, a refrigerator, and a living room area. Guestrooms are available with two double beds that sleep up to four guests.

Coming from Munich, Germany. First impression at the bar. Not a good one.

The great view cannot offset the outrageous prices for mediocre wine. Buckets of rose sangria half filled with ice for over 100 Dollars. Tiny glasses of Rose for 16 Dollars.
It is a rip-off. We cannot recommend this place to any of our European friends who like traveling to Long Island.

We understand this is "the" place for the fun, European vibe.
We understand the food is ok. We understand the service is quick (turn the tables").
Yes, we are seasonal regulars.....
BUT, we DON'T understand $135 for a pitcher of rose' sangria. A pitcher half filled with ICE.
Buyer Beware.
