Overview

Hidden away in a peaceful forest of birch and spruce trees, you’ll find three quiet cabins — rustic on the outside, luxurious on the inside. The biggest of them, Willow Cabin, was completed in 2016 and still has that new cabin smell. It can sleep a family of six on three queen beds. The fully equipped kitchen, with brand new appliances, is like something out of a home showcase. There’s a stainless steel oven, range, microwave and refrigerator, with loads of counter space. There’s also a coffeemaker, toaster, dishes, utensils and enough pots and pans to prepare any meal. A hot breakfast of yogurt, fruit, granola, bacon, eggs and pancakes is served each morning in the main lodge, or you can choose to have your cabin stocked with continental breakfast items for a lower cost. Other amenities include satellite TV, DVD player, free Wi-Fi and a walk-in shower. The cabin also has a large front porch where you can sit and listen to the whispering trees, interrupted only by the soft crunch of moose feet.

The Talkeetna Chalet is located 3 miles south of the town of Talkeetna, well off the main road, so your surroundings are calm and peaceful. The owners of the Chalet offer several flightseeing and fishing packages at a discount. Other excursions are available from a number of guides in town. The entire downtown core of Talkeetna is on the National Register of Historic Places, which makes it a fun place to walk and explore. Kids will want to grab some snacks at Nagley’s General Store, much as children have done for nearly a century. Be sure to stop for a meal at the Talkeetna Roadhouse. It’s a popular restaurant with mountain climbers, who load up on a hearty meal before ascending Denali. After a busy day of adventures in the Alaskan wilderness, everyone will love returning to the enchanting cabin in the woods at the Talkeetna Chalet.

Overnight stay attending wedding, nice serene quiet

by Tom P

Owner is planning on selling, new owners may have new ideas, costs & etc. but would still recommend for quiet get-away. The television and associated remotes were confusing and inadequate but who goes on a get-away to watch TV anyway.

Nice cabins to stay in

by GunLakeExplorer

We were two couples and stayed in the Willow and Spruce cabins. They were both very nice. We stayed there two nights while we explored the Talkeetna area. Lots of privacy. They are out in the woods. You do have to go down dirt roads so your vehicle will get pretty dirty. Also, they could improve the mattresses and pillow are the bed. Need updating.
