Reviews

Basic close to everything

by Btanner582

We were really worried about staying at this villa after reading the reviews on several booking sites, however as we had a no refund booking we had to "hope for the best" When we arrived the lady at the front desk greeted us with a smile and gave us the key. On entering the villa, the gardens and plunge pool looked clean and inviting. We had 3 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, air conditioner (cold) and TV. The beds were comfortable. As stated on another review there was a small stain on one of the bed covers, however with saying this the linen itself smelt and felt clean. The towels aren't bleach white however they are clean and replaced daily.
The kitchen has a full size fridge with small freezer that was clean and worked well. The cooking stove was old and rusty but it would work if needed, but who wants to cook while on holidays? In our villa there were a few pots, plates and utensils but not a lot. I am sure if we needed anything for the kitchen we could just ask. We felt comfortable speaking with all the staff who we found extremely friendly and helpful. If one didn't understand what we were saying they would find someone who could help.
Breakfast was included in the price this was made off site and then delivered to our villa, so of course it's not going to be hot on arrival. There was several different choices and while it wasn't fancy I found it quite sufficient and enough to get through to lunch. When ordering breakfast you have to give a time that you want it delivered so we were awake and ready and left our door open so they could just enter and place on the table. The villa is cleaned daily.
Because the kitchen area is open, at night the mosquitos are out. The villa doesn't provide coils or spray but a quick trip to a circle K and problem solved.
This is by no means a 5 star villa however it is not advertised as a 5 star. The villas are getting old and in need of some touch ups and maintenance, so if you want 5 star go somewhere else. If you want basic, cheap, quiet, close to eateries and shopping then this place will do.

Don’t stay here

DO NOT STAY AT VILLA SAVVOYA

We have stayed at Villa Savvoya for 9 nights. First look at our villa it was nice but didn’t really look like the photos. In every bed room the sheets were dirty (e.g. had blood on them, nail polish and other various stains). We asked for our sheets to be changed and when they were, the next set of sheets were just as disgusting.

Our pool was broken for majority of our stay therefore we were unable to use it. It was just absolutely filthy. When the came to fix it they had power cords running through the pool. The shower in one of the rooms was broken for 4 days. When we asked on the first day if it could be fixed is took them 4 days to fix it. When the shower was “fixed” the shower wouldn’t drain and flooded the bathroom. There were mosquito nests in the rooms; all windows and doors were closed and we still got severely bitten.

Breakfast was cold every morning. When you order bacon and eggs it should be hot.

On a plus side staff were kind and a fresh bottle of water was delivered every day.
