Overview

When it comes to family vacations, this Lake Winnipesauke motel resort is in many ways the best of both worlds. It has been continually renovated and modernized, yet retains and old-school motel feel-and while it is only a short walk away from all of the excitement and fun of family-friendly Weirs Beach, it is still out-of-the-way and quiet, offering a nice respite when needed.

A dozen motel rooms have been recently updated with two new full-sized beds each, along with fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and flat-screen TV. In addition, the resort offers a range of cabins, cottages, and houses. Most of them have one bedroom and sleep four people, but several larger ones have two bedrooms and sleep up to six. Some also come equipped with full kitchens. The property also has an outdoor swimming pool, playground, and fire pit. Winnipesauke Pier is only a five-minute walk away, and Funspot is only a five-minute drive.

The smell & lack of cleanliness

by shronal

Started off with a girl being on speaker phone with the owner to give me key. Got to the deluxe condo which was very nice EXCEPT for the horrendous smell of oil. Called and was told they forgot to open the windows so open and the smell should go away. Smell was still there in the morning just not as strong. Went down to the office and he says the smell is not that bad ! Do we want to leave? Have 7 people and where were we supposed to go? Gave me an air freshener for the smell. Also, as you will see in the pictures below the coffee pot still had the old filter in it and the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes that had been there for quite a long time as they had green on them !!! His comment was not sure who left it like that?!? Then there was a drainage pipe that was not capped and the smell that came out was horrendous! The location was ideal and the deluxe condo was very nice. However, the only compensation they gave me was $30. Had an amazing weekend with friends despite the lack of accommodations!! Not sure how they stay in business....

A short visit to a scenic mountain lake. Weir’s Beach Motel and Cottages for our needs perfectly

by TandKYoung

This is a quaint, simple motel- don’t expect chain hotel amenities. The rooms was clean and comfortable, the furnishings decent. The pool appeared to be clean, well kept and relaxing. We did not stay in the cottages, but they also appeared well kept. Many of the guest in the cottages seemed to enjoy the small screened in porches. The motel is in easy walking distance of the boardwalk area of Weir’s Beach and the Akwa Beach Bar in the opposite direction. In typical old-school motel fashion, we parked directly in front of our room, which made loading and unloading easy. Check in fast and easy, staff friendly and attentive.
· While the air conditioning units in the rooms were effective, they were VERY dated (probably original) and noisy. Family’s with small children take note, the motel is right on the main road through Weir’s. There are no sidewalks and very little shoulder. It seemed that all the motorcycles going by were trying to see who was loudest and fastest. This could be a major issue during Laconia Bike Week for non riders. The price was a little high for a motel, except for the fact it is clearly in an affluent summer vacation destination.
