Loved the Hyatt at Mission Beach.....close to downtown and so much to do! The hotel was older but very nice and built just off a major mall where there were numerous restaurants, cafes, shops, stores, etc. The hotel has a pool and jacuzzi and the more +staff was friendly. Rooms were large. The kids loved the shopping...especially the tweens and teens!

Also, the San Diego Zoo is a must for the entire family with it's enormous park, shops, cafes, and the animals area amazing. There's even a sky-tram that takes you over the top of the park so you can see the entire thing by air. We had a blast and were absolutely exhausted. The bus thru town back and forth was free from our hotel to the zoo. It's a great place to have a family vacation...and the Hyatt is a good place to stay with the family.

We stayed for 4 days over some of Labor Day weekend at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. The rooms were excellent (nicely renovated). We stayed in a tower room overlooking the pool area and the wooden roller coaster in the distance (on the bay). The more +room had 2 queens, a flat screen tv, small refrigerator and safe. Everything we needed for a 4 day trip to end the summer.

The pool area at this hotel is fantastic. They have a small toddler friendly water slide that empties into a small pool and 2 larger water slides (with height restrictions) that empty into a slightly larger pool (with a beach/zero entry slope which my kids loved). They have a 3rd larger pool that is simply for swimming. Mom and Dad enjoyed the Hot tub.

This hotel is right on the Bay... they have a bagel shop in the marina adjacent to the hotel that offers a great breakfast option. The kids loved watching people go out on the boats and jet skis from the rental place there. A couple of resident sea lions live one dock over and the kids enjoyed watching them play in the water. At night they sell Smores kits and they have 2 fire pit areas (one poolside and one surrounded by cabanas) . The kids thought it was the neatest thing. Many families were doing this and all the kids seemed to be having fun and making friends!

We only ate once at the hotel besides the morning bagels place and it was at the Swim bar in the pool area. They had several kid friendly options (mac n cheese, burgers, hot dogs etc.) and my husband and I shared a delicious salad and sandwich. It was really delicious and exceeded our expectations. Everyone within the hotel was very friendly and helpful.

The concierge helped us with directions/maps to various areas/attractions in San Diego. The bell man who brought our bags up the first day was so helpful and made the kids feel very welcome and excited to be in San Diego. They even had Shamu one morning available for some family pictures! I didn't get the opportunity to use the spa but the info and pictures looked nice.... maybe next time!

Highly recommend this hotel for families! We'll be returning!
