Don't waste your money!

by Mary S

I booked this hotel on Hotwire as a secret deals hotel. They listed it as a 3 star hotel, and it is anything but that! I was thoroughly disappointed with both the hotel cleaniless, and amentities (which were none-no restaurant on site, no beach club like they had advertised, horrible location in town, the "pool" was smaller than most hot tubs in the states...the list goes on) but I was also dissapointed in Hotwire not resolving any of the issues. We checked out of the hotel within 30 minutes of checking in and found a much better place.

Best to avoid

This spartan and charmless establishment lacks all but the most basic necessities. There was no sign of the bright bedspread in my room-- just one threadbare sheet. I wasn't given a remote control to adjust the air conditioning, so I spend a frigid night shivering with two layers of clothes on. When I tried to pick up the phone to call the front desk, the receiver quite literally broke apart in my hand.
There is no lamp for reading, no towel bars at the sink, and no coffee machine or water is provided.
The "pool" is a putrid puddle in a room that resembles a concrete bunker.
All that said, the room seemed clean and I didn't fear for my personal safety.
What may have just been an uninspiring but tolerable sejour was made unbearable by the pounding music and screaming coming from an amusement park set up just across the street. Ear plugs were no match for the roller coaster. I cut my booking short and moved out after only one night. (However, it is my understanding that the rides are only there for about one week each year.)
I can only think of a couple reasons why anyone would stay here: 1) You simply can't afford anything else 2) You really have to be in Huatulco and everything else is booked.
Otherwise, look for something else.
