I don't know if using points and paying makes a difference, but the last two stays in Iowa City through Wyndam has been horrible. I don't know if they give the worst rooms when you use points or what. Facilities have been dirty, rooms not clean and service is extremely poor.

I was slapped with $100 extra charge because they said my room smelled of smoke. I do not smoke, so there was clearly a mistake. But it took me almost 3 weeks, 8 phone calls and 3 emails to even get that information after I noticed the overcharge. Finally got an email from the manager who said my room smelled of smoke. The end. Nothing more. Didn't care what I had to say. Don't stay there unless you like people stealing your money. And the room was awful, too.
