Overview

Just 10 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta where the mountains meet the ocean – putting an end to that “beach or mountains” discussion – Costa Sur Resort & Spa sits directly on the beach. Here kids can swim in the ocean lagoon with a variety of colorful fish, or they can splash around in the resort swimming pool. Other water activities include scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling (bring your own if you have it) and paddle boarding. The property also has its own spa and gym. At meal times, families can dine at the main restaurant, or grab something at the snack bar or small cafe. Family-friendly accommodations include oceanfront studios and one-bedroom suites. Amenities include air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, safe and kitchenette.

Southern PV location

by Susieqa

The checkin was great. Room size is quite large. Our room is a bit tired, but we knew that when reserving as we didn’t opt for a renovated room. The staff at pool, bar and restaurants are all good. We had an issue with the tv not working properly and after an attempt to fix it, they brought a new one to the room. I consider that very good customer service! All rooms have a wonderful full ocean view.
We agreed to attend a timeshare presentation and it was much more low key than many in the area. No pressure. Unfortunately the promised resort credit (not for room payment, transportation or mini mart printed on it) also became not for activities, tours, or spa - only food / drink which was not how it was promised - so be careful if doing it, as your resort credit is very limited in use!
The location is great if using the buses, as there are stops directly in front of hotel.
My biggest complaint are the people staying here and the lack of attention from staff. Pool loungers have towels thrown on them at 8am, then the people leave, and essentially reserve the lounger for the entire day. Also the adult / quiet pool has kids playing / yelling in it. Babies in diapers are allowed in the pools also.

Just like home but better!

Our first visit was unsurpassed! The staff was kind, attentive, and eager to give us the best experience ever! The food was top notch and the activities were fun and engaging. Ivan, the activities director was very friendly and tons of fun, and he even was kind enough to open the yoga room for the 4 dancers in our party of 7 to have a place to practice and create in. The room had the loveliest view of the ocean with an all glass wall!!!! And Gabriella, Jose, and Miguel stood out as excellent servers, and in the end we all felt so close it was like we were leaving family behind when it was time to go home.

We also got amazing help from Inaki when we wanted to do fun things and didn’t know where to start. He made everything happen smoothly and affordable!

We all cannot wait to go back! We felt right at home the moment we arrived but without all the chores!

Thank you Costa Sur and staff!! You were all amazing!
