Beautiful Hotel Downtown Philly

by blmtct

Excellent location downtown. Right behind City Hall and 2 blocks from Reading Terminal Market. A lot of restaurants nearby to walk to. Hotel used to be the Courtyard but transitioned to The Notary in summer of 2019. Historical location, beautiful architectural detail in the comfortable and inviting lobby. Rooms are clean, spacious with mini fridge and safes and large bathrooms. Hotel has a restaurant and coffee bar. Staff was pleasant. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Incredibly disorganized staff - slow check in

Hotel itself looks nice, but the staff is incredibly slow and disorganized. We ordered a crib with our booking and usually hotels have them in the room when you arrive. I had to go the front desk twice (waiting in a line of 5-10 people each time) call 3 times (which they don’t pick up the front desk phone very often) and was told at least 5 times “it’s on it’s way” after being 3 hours delayed. Parents will know how hard it is with a 9 month old if you miss their nap by 30 mins let alone 3 hours.
lol. Pretty brutal start. Elevators are very slow as well, 5 min wait on average while we were here. Only positive was the room is nice.
