Overview

The Eco Hotel Arena Blanca offers guests spacious quadruple rooms and an onsite restaurant in centrally located San Cristobal. Families can watch sea lions frolic on the beach, Sally Light-foot Crabs scuttle across the sand, or tiny turtles make their first steps towards the ocean at the giant tortoise breeding station. The Centro De Interpretacion provides information on the islands conservation efforts, climate, and unique geology. Hundreds of marine iguanas inhabit the black lava rock at La Loberia and put on quite a show for the casual observers. Birdwatchers should flock to Laguna El Junco, a small lake in a volcanic crater.

Reviews

A very comfortable, roomy place!

My customers put me in the Arena Blanca, and I was very impressed by how nicely made everything is. It's an "eco hotel", so instead of water bottles you have a pitcher and glasses with drinking water.

A mixed bag

It's difficult to give a rating, as this is the only hotel we have stayed at in the city so we have nothing to meaningfully compare to. First the good points. The room seemed clean and was adequate in size. The staff were extremely good- helpful at all times, going above what we expected of them. The pool was nice, a game room was available complete with ping pong table and the breakfast was good. On the negative side, there was a bad smell in room 2 that we could never quite get away from, the toilet did not work right and the WiFi was just awful. There was no iron or hair dryer in the room, although one was available from the front desk. The beds were not bad and the air conditioner was fine. It was reasonably quiet. Easy taxi access to town for two dollars, and the taxi always arrived momentarily after calling. It was about a ten minute walk to town.
