Go Somewhere Else

Well, we weren't expecting much, but this place is not only outdated, but needs a total overhaul in terms of rooms and staff. We took the advice posted here to stay in the back. We expected quiet. There were people outside in the parking lot talking until 1am. People outside smoking. We did not feel safe here. Don't stay on the ground floor unless you want to see bugs on the bathroom floor. The bedspread is outdated, the Wifi signal was not strong (we kept getting disconnected) and overall we left and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Depends on what you are looking for !!!!!!

We arrived on Tuesday after reading the reviews on TA. Being honest we were hoping for more. This was our last resting place before boarding a plane to head home after a fabulous holiday. It had rained all day so our outlook was already depressed but to be advised there is no coffee making facility in any of the rooms was adding to my gloomy outlook. The clerk said coffee was available in the breakfast area. I turned round to take a look but both coffee pots were empty - no evidence it was or about to be put on.

Car parking is spread out along the boundary of the property which is acceptable but if, like us you have heavy luggage, then climbing even one flight of stairs is a ball acre.

No curtains on the windows overlooking the courtyard (had blackout drapes) meant you either had to be in a goldfish bowl or put the lights on.

We read that this was good value and I have no problem with that but would a coffee maker, fridge make that much of an impact on profits ?????

But I have to give credit the room was clean, the bathroom appeared to be recently refurbished and very clean and these are very important to all guests. Sorry coffee making is very important to me and I don’t want to walk half way around the building for a refill !!!!!

There are some good restaurants nearby, we found the Anchor Down restaurant and found it to welcoming, great food, nice people. So we can recommend that without question, as for the Gateway Inn we will leave that to you to determine.
