The Grand Mayan is a luxury resort that allows families easy access to the beach and to nearby Mayan Riviera attractions. Rooms have a modern, chic feel with sitting rooms and Jacuzzis. Families may want to opt for a suite, which provides more space and a kitchenette. Five onsite restaurants and a poolside snack bar will provide guests with food for the entire vacation. Many cuisines are available, including Oriental, American and Caribbean.
Besides the huge winding pool and playground, children will enjoy the Mayan Kids Club, for ages 5 through 12. Here, they will meet new friends while going on ecological adventures, watching movies and playing games. Families who enjoy golf will love the Grand Mayan’s onsite driving range. Parents will want to visit the tranquil, upscale Bio Health Spa for relaxing massages and facials that utilize natural local products.

The resort is way too big. It took a long time just to get anywhere(pool, restaurants, shops, etc....). If you do not have an all inclusive program getting out to eat and enjoy is quite the process( waiting for the trolley, riding on the trolley and then waiting to get your car.) It takes at least a half an hour just to get out.

I just returned from Grand Mayan and it was a wonderful experience.
We stayed in a Grand Suite that included a separate room, kitchen, jacuzzi, "cooling pool" on the terrace (as you can see in the photos) and enough space for 4 people. The maid was wonderful and kept our room spotless. The staff would reject our beds every night leaving little kisses of chocolates!
The service was exceptional! Everyone was friendly and quick to say "hello!" The cleaning staff (cosme, julian) was wonderful and made our ordinary day at the beach the best time we had.
The property is large, so there are transportation services to take you to various places. We end up learning to walk to the main attractions (beach, pools and restaurants), so we don't rely on transfers so often.
It's about 20 minutes, but I didn't care. We were able to get one of the buses that literally come every 10-15 minutes outside the hotel. I loved the hotel because it has so much to choose from
