Hampton should be ashamed of this hotel ! It,s a dump

by Mechita234

Incredibly dirty,a dump. No effort from the staff to be accommodating or reasonable. The first room we received after a long trip had a very bad smell. We went out to find some dinner and when we came back we opened the bathroom door and it smelled like a sewer, so we immediately requested a room change. The front desk did not seem to believe us - at least that was the young lady’s attitude- she sent maintenance up ( 10 pm) and he confirmed something was wrong with the bathroom so he said he would insist on the room change because we were right about it. She said I will see if it is possible to find another room. The furniture etc seemed new but looked old and outdated the room is dark, very small and cramped. I think people stay here only because of the location but the prices are really too high for what you get. Three days later I found something much better much cleaner looking, more spacious, much much cheaper in the museum district. I recommend you search for short term leasing, minimum 3 days, ex. Corporate Stays.if you are staying longer than 3 days.
You can survive Hampton one or two nights only, specially if you are sick.
I used t love Hampton’s but in this case forget it, I will be much more careful

They state on their web page that the hotel is under construction but their attitude is like saying tough luck, if you don’t like the noises and smells you should not have come in the firsts place. Workers walk all over you , no temporary wall separating their work place, can’ t use the hallway etc nowhere to sit in the lobby to wit for a taxi

Conclusion I would not return more because of the staffs attitude than for any other reasons. That will not change with remodeling
Stayed at the end of october

Okay, decent but not the greatest

Reasonably nice Hampton Inn located amid a cluster of hospitals in Houston. We selected the location because it was near the venue for a conference. The hotel was being remodeled, and I took that into account when awarding four stars. The breakfast and desk staff were to a person pleasant, friendly, and professional. The room was reasonably clean, but there was visible dust on the base of the television and the housekeeping service inconsistent, such as forgetting to check the in-room coffee maker and restocking the coffee. The included breakfast was much better on Monday than over the weekend. Unfortunately, the breakfast was served in a small side room, as the regular breakfast location and the attendant kitchen were being remodeled. Overall, this is a nice place, even taking the remodeling into account, but the housekeeping could use a bit of improvement. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in this part of Houston.
